24 Std in Sydney sind einfach nicht genug!! Auf jeden Fall ein Grund noch einmal wiederzukommen!!

Ich war recht früh, noch vor dem Wecker wach. Zum ersten Mal auf der Reise bin ich morgens in Ruhe frühstücken gewesen. Man hatte mir hier in der JHB das Fairplay Café in der Nähe des Rocks Squares bzw. der Touristeninformation empfohlen. Es war zwar kein richtiges Café im eigentlichen Sinne, sondern mehr eine kleine Bude mit ein paar Tischen davor, aber das Frühstück war lecker. Leider muß ich morgen so früh los, daß ich keine Zeit mehr für ein Frühstück dort habe.

Danach habe ich mich den halben Tag in den Hop on – Hop off Bus gesetzt. Es gibt 2 Routen. Einmal die für die Innenstadt und dann die für Bondi Beach. Ich bin beide abgefahren, aber ohne groß auszusteigen. In 24 Stunden kann man halt nicht viel machen. Ich wollte aber mal eine Übersicht über die Stadt bekommen und schauen, ob sie mir noch genauso gut gefällt, wie damals, als ich für ca. 23 Jahren mit Anne Marie da war.

Sie gefällt mir immer noch gut. Auch hier habe ich das Gefühl, daß die Stadt auch für das Leben und nicht nur für das Arbeiten gemacht wurde. Die Stadt ist allerdings wesentlich hektischer und aggressiver wie jede andere Stadt in Neuseeland.

 Ich bin in Darling Harbour ausgestiegen. Mit den ganzen Geschäften, Restaurant und allem Drumherum hat es uns damals dort sehr gut gefallen und es ist immer noch schön. Auf den Freiflächen stehen Stühle, denen sich die Leute in ihrer Mittagspause ausruhen können. Und noch vieles mehr.

Das Wetter hilft natürlich enorm. So richtig kalt wird es hier kaum.

Das Wetter hat mir heute übrigens zu schaffen gemacht. Erst war es heute Morgen bewölkt und es hat etwas geregnet und später hatten wir teilweise strahlend blauen Himmel und 28°C, was einem oben auf einem Doppeldeckerbus ohne Fahrtwind und Schatten etwas zu schaffen gemacht hat. Später, als ich noch einmal Sonne für ein letztes Foto des Opernhauses gebraucht hätte, zogen wieder Wolken auf.

Naja, das Wetter ist halt nie das, was man gerade braucht!!

Aber ich hoffe, daß ich heute noch einmal gut Sonne getankt habe. Morgen geht es nach Seoul und da warten -6 bis ca. +6 °C Höchsttemperatur auf mich. Wenn ich das überstehe, sollte ich für Deutschland gewappnet sein.

Da ich morgen den ganzen Tag am Reisen bin, glaube ich nicht, daß es morgen viel zu berichten gibt. Das größte Problem wird sein morgenfrüh zum Flughafen zu kommen. Der Flieger geht um 9 Uhr!! Der Wecker ist für 5 Uhr gestellt. Ich hoffe, ich schaffe das überhaupt noch, so früh aufzustehen!!

Jetzt muss ich erst einmal meine Koffer so umpacken, daß ich leichter an die warmen Sachen herankomme, die ich die letzten 6 Wochen nicht gebaucht habe.

24 hrs are just too short for Sydney!! I definitely have a good reason to come back!!

I got up very early. Even before the alarm went off. For the first time on this tour I had a nice and relaxing breakfast in a little café called “Fairplay” close to Rock Square and the tourist information. It wasn’t really a café but more a stall with some table in front, but the food was awesome!! Unfortunately I have to leave very early tomorrow so I cannot go there again.

Afterwards I spend half the day on a Hop on – Hop off bus. There 2 routes. One only includes the inner city and the other one Bondi Beach. I took both of them but did not really get off anywhere. There is only so much you can do in 24 hrs and my main goal was to get a good overview of the city to see if I still like it the way I did when I was here with Anne Marie 23 years ago.

I still like Sydney. Again it is a city that was not only created to work in, but also to live in. However Sydney is much more hectic and aggressive than any city in New Zealand.

In Darling Harbour I got off the bus. With it small shops, restaurants and everything else I really liked it the last time and it is still nice. There are chairs on the open spaces where the people from the offices can relax during their lunch break and much more.

Having a weather that does not get really cold might help as well.

The weather was pretty tough on me today. In the morning we had cloudy sky and even a bit of rain. During the day while I was sitting on the top deck of the bus with no shade and no wind we had a clear blue sky and 28°C and when I needed the sun for a last nice picture of the opera house, the clouds were back!!

But I hope that I got loaded with sunshine today. In Seoul the next days we will have -6 to +6°C max. temperature. If I “survive” that I will have no problems with the German weather.

Since I will be traveling the whole day tomorrow I doubt that there will be much to write about. The biggest problem will be to get to the airport. The flight leaves at 9 am!! The alarm is set for 5 am and I hope that I will be able to get up that early!!

Now I have to repack my luggage so I can more easily access the warm clothing I did not need the last 6 weeks!!
